Nobody will be able to argue that PSP is one of the best gaming devices that have been invented in the last few years. Even though the device does not have any flaws, one can argue that you cannot make calls with the Sony PSP. Even though it may sound a little bit tooth picking, it is certainly one thing that the Sony PSP cannot do. Hence, Sony Ericsson has come up with a new mobile phone that combines the best of the Sony PSP along with the Sony Ericsson's legendary mobile phone technologies to give one brand-new device called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. This device is expected to change the mobile phone gaming segment totally when it is launched by the company officially.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will look like any normal Sony Ericsson phone, but the real magic in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play lies only when you flip out the screen display. It would then reveal a Sony PSP style keyboard that can be used for all purposes related to gaming. The phone with the 4 inch screen is probably best suited for gaming purposes mainly because of this keyboard. It can also be used for watching movies as well because the 4 inch touch screen display uses a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, which in any world, is fantastic. The PSP style keyboard slides out the landscape mode and even though you might be slightly disappointed with the silver garnish, there is no denying the fact that it is a fantastic option to be having if you are a gaming fan.

The touch screen display in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is powered by Bravia technology, which is similar to the technology that is being used in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc that has been announced recently by Sony Ericsson. Because the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is primarily made for gaming purposes, Sony Ericsson has provided this phone with a fantastic 1 GHz QUALCOMM processor that can handle almost any kind of high-end games that you play in it. The chipset of the processor has not been revealed yet, but the presence of a graphics card separately means that you can handle almost any HD game that has been released in the past few years. The separate graphics card is of the Adreno 205 GPU variety and it is recognised be the best in the business today.

Even though Sony Ericsson has provided this phone with plenty of processing power in the way of a fantastic processor and a separate graphics card, it has given only 512 MB of memory as the RAM, which is slightly disappointing considering the scale of gaming that this phone will be having. The phone will be having the Android operating system as standard. The phone is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress, which is about to be held at Barcelona shortly. One thing that has been revealed is the fact that it will be making its way into the UK.

When searching for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play offers online you can save a great deal of money by doing a comparison. In this manner you can also find a great deal for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc .
